From Japan to SL

When an old skin was worn, any old clothing can be used as is. But the old clothing is not used as a cloth worn but is baked on the skin, so pants and sleeves flare and other shape changes do not function in BOM. The length only can be adjusted. The clothing made with Prims such as skirt, hat or shoes can be worn on Maitreya as is.




If the cuffs of pants or shirts was prepared as separate prims, it should be OK. The left is Classic body, and the center is Maitreya with BOM. In this case both of them are almost identical, so there might be no reason to use BOM. Second look confirms that the nails are sticking out of gloves, so it is necessary to remove the nail. The hand layer should not be erased since it also affects the clothing. In this case both clothing look the same, so there might not be a reason to use Maitreya with BOM. Since an old clothing is considered as a kind of skin like tattoo, it will be doubled if the Alpha is removed.




Not only the flare, but also the fit (distance from the body surface) cannot be adjusted. A quilted down coat is sticked to the skin and reveals the nipples. It is possible to hide them but the coat looks cold.




Nomally mesh clothing does not move independent from the body, so it looks like a kind of plaster bondage. The top two pictures are old prim clothing and the lower ones are mesh. The left two are on the way up, and the right, falling down. The mesh skirt does not puff up with wind and keeps constant distance from legs. It cannot be seen whether this is rising or falling.




The mesh clothing moves only following the body while dancing. The old one can be adjusted, the characteristics against wing, inertia, and gravity. It is not interesting to wear clothing that does not swing while dancing. There are other merits in the mesh body or clothing, so it is better to use them for the purpose, not considering them as a wild card.　The old prim clothing can be worn on Maitreya as-is without BOM.



Someone does not like the mesh clothing not only because of wasting many old dresses but also the rack of movement and adjustment. Regarding the body, there have been the “Physics” that controls movement of bust or hip, but the “gravity” works only along the body axis and does not change according to postures like lying or handstandng. The bust movement is too artificial for my body, so I have not used it. I wish for a realistic body actually following the gravity. But before that, I would like to find mesh clothing that accepts the wind and gravity. If anyone knows it, please let me know.
