Mind's Eye
Visited one of the July exhibitions of LEA, “When the Mind's Eye Listens” by Nino Vichan. There are several “Eyes” that can be reached through teleporters. At each eye, a tour using flying carpet is provided, but it is also good to fly around if there is no other audience.

In the infinite space of your mind's eye the neural pathways that define your memories, dreams, fantasies, and the memories of those dreams and fantasies, intersect and reform patterns that combine the stimuli received from your visual and auditory input channels.
In this dimension the laws of physics are only used as referential material for the infinite creative processes that govern your experiences.
Free floating endlessly through this continually modulating universe you encounter a melody from a wooden flute that drifts like a dusky, perfumed mist and gives you a feeling of peace.

The ever changing pattern cannot be depicted through still pictures, but even a moving image is not enough to express this three-dimensional art that allows us to get inside. The only way is to get in there actually. Still there is a restriction that we can see them only through PC screen, but it is the same for the artist who created this.

I am not crazy about moving pictures. Skiing and tennis are only videos that I took in RL. I saw my friends started shooting movies and made very cool ones and I would like to try, but maybe because I took too much still pictures, I feel that I hold all the cards with photographs. Especially in case of ever changing 3D arts like this, I will be satisfied when I got a favorite shot I feel as if the art came into my own. Also it might be a good point of SL 3D arts that allows us to see from various viewpoints.

Another point may be self-satisfaction, feeling that ‘this angle was found by ne’ or ‘none but I dare shoot in this way’. The reason why I often use “Japanese-flag layout” (to put the subject at the center like the Japanese national flag, which is not recommended in textbooks) could be my somewhat kinky character…

Transparent bug
With the new Firestorm viewer, the shape for shoes was destroyed and it became impossible to wear pumps. On inquiry they said, “If these shoes are using inviprims, and you have “Advanced Lighting Model” enabled, then this is expected behavior. Inviprims are not compatible with deferred rendering.” To remove ALM, Avatar→Preference→Graphics→General→Advanced Lighting Model. The left is with check, the right without. With ALM, shadows are shown and skin is cooler…

This change is said to resolve ‘alpha crash’ in which inviprim picks up colors in background. This also eliminates the interesting effect of the transparent avatar made by Fuscha. The left is ALM OFF, the right is ON. I reported before the interesting effect of the avatar that was not simple transparency. Transparent shirts for mesh clothing or alpha channel for yacht sail seem not to be affected. For right now, it may be necessary to check objects with transparent portion in each case.

Saturday Baba dancing was samba on 20th too. Some regulars were in bad shape and not so many attendants. The same members as last week were only Kazumi and me. The SIM was also in bad shape on the day. Dances were not synchronized, many any drops and freezes…

An exposure bug of male version. It should not be the transparent bug since I had made ALM off. The subject person is Hideyoshi appearing on far left in the above picture. I was not sure what he was trying to be since he did not finish. He might have tried to go back to the adult shape but did not make it till the end. On the far right, Kazumi returned from re-log but with nothing on. I rather not took SSs….

Skin Bug
While changing cloth at home, suddenly the texture of the dress came on my face. It did not go away until re-log. I wondered whether this could be seen by others. I should have confirmed it using my sister, but I do not have time before a party.

This is a case reported before, the face texture came on pants. I found that there is an opposite case.

I found that it is possible to put any texture on my body and tried other ones. The left is Na’vi skin on my normal shape. The right is stone-texture. Someone is creating own texture. As same as shirts, a map for face texture has been released, so it should be possible to paint face according to it. Not necessary to make whole skin and it should be easy to modify or do my makeup, but unfortunately most of skins are not modifiable.

A sculpture can be made with granite texture. It could be possible to put a stature at my gallery using my sister on a pose… no way.

Dance hall
Recently I went in dances in ball rooms. There are many cool halls. This white one is in the air. Changing the subject, I recently changed viewer to Firestorm. The East position adjustment is: World→Photo and Video→Photo Tools→Edit Sky Preset→East Angle. The first two steps have a short cut of Alt+P, but the process became more complicated than the Phoenix.

There was Moulin Rouge in Paris SIM before. Passing through the reception on a red carpet, there was a gorgeous ball room with balcony. I dreamt of being invited by someone… Recently I visited another Paris SIM and found Moulin Rouge. I was excited to pass the entrance but there was only a back yard. This is a famous hall, Amoroso, which was done mainly by texture only, but has some atmosphere. But it is sad that it is not possible to move around the hall while dancing.

This one has beautiful wall painting, but the dance ball does not allow moving. Normally any pair dance ball may be fixed its position.

This is Café Pleiades where I often visit recently. The host says “Is this place OK?” and our position will be fixed to the end. Since the partner is professional, I can enjoy conversation, but a part of joy of dancing is close encounter with other pairs, thinking that “My dress is cooler than hers” or “I wish I could exchange the partner”. Could it be possible to make the ball movable by gentlemen using edit command? It might be nice if he could take lead according to the music,,,

Samba!
The theme of Baba dance party last Saturday was “Carnival”. Maybe because of consecutive holidays, there were not so many attendants. The second from left is Kazumi the master of Baba. She used to be a healthy girl like Tomoko on the left, but has reduced her weight somewhere along the line. The background was erased to show the costume. The site was in front of the seaside clubhouse as below.

The derender function was renewed in Firestorm viewer. As before, touch an object, More→More→Derender and two menus come out, then there are two options, Temporary and Blacklist. Temporary will erase the object but it will come back after re-log or TP. Blacklist is as before, possible to rerender through World→Asset Blacklist. In the old version, it was necessary to rerender one by one after finishing photo shooting, but now it is easy to put them back. There are some good things in a newer version. How to use Firestorm is available at the URL below.
