To Fly 1/4
Sachiko gave me a ride with an airboat, Swordfish the torpedo bomber. It was OK until take off, but dropped soon in the air. Also reading is slow and the surroundings became gray. It was the first time in years to fly an airplane, so I gathered some pictures to fly.
An airboat owned by K0usei. This could be a special version of a low-wing Cessna modified with amphibious floats.
I did not wear seatbelts. Naturally I was ejected out after takeoff. But K0usei was also dropped soon and I had a rare chance to watch the plane clash. The right below is not the clash but re-Rezing a new one.
Beechcraft Kingair taxing toward take off at a foregin areport. In good old days in SL, there were many active airports.
An air race using a micro avatar. The plane is small with only width of 1.5M, it was not necessary to cross SIM boarders to fly the circuit. It was possible to scale down automobiles or yachts to micro level for racing, but it was not become popular.
An old article about the air race:http://temisirbu.slmame.com/e1343189.html
SL has not been able to compete with TV games in car racing, but now for airplanes the flight simulator (FS) has been advanced in the extreme. This is the Pitts Special at high-speed low pass at 160 knots through the Seto Bridge. The Pitts is made for aerobatics with high maneuverability, so it is easy to fly through this kind of narrow passage. Some cars driving on the bridge but on the right (wrong) side ^-^
Cessna 152 flying next to the Empire State Building. The scenery looks real at the first glance, but careful look reveals some strange shape on buildings or the roads, but the purpose of the FS is not to make the landscape real but to simulate the plane itself. Not only the instruments, but also switches, keyboards and onboard computers are acting, that amazed a real pilot of 787. The air traffic on airports is related to the planes that are flying now in real time. There are announces from control towers, which scolded me many times while I was flying arbitrarily
I had been traveling around the world in SL, but now I will try to visit all sightseeing spots from the air in this FS. To begin with, I visited Paris where the scenery was updated recently, and flew throuth the Eifel Tower and the Arch of Triumph. In SL I flew through the Kaminari-mon at Edo Asakusa with the Zero Fighter. If you are interested in the FS, please see the articles in the net.
