Cubes
Visited a LEA program, The Cube Project. Over 25 artists have joined this project curated by Bryn Oh, to create a 20-SIM exhibit in just 5 days. I did not notice the schedule and almost missed the final day. I rushed at shooting pictures but it was almost impossible to see everything.

The cube project opened on Aug. 22nd and closed on Sept. 1st, five days for work and five days for presentation. The homepage said that several rapid-build artists were invited for the five-day work, and the result was a sort of controlled chaos. Artists who usually dig deep for their artistic vision suddenly let loose without reservation, and the varying degrees to which they do this, provide a rich and versatile composition across 20 SIMs.

The theme was “Black and White Cubes”. Black and white might sound so monochromatic, or the cube geometry a bit basic, but actually the artists showed wonderful splay of imagination. This is the smallest part of a huge area including lager cubes. Each cube is physical and moved when pushed or kicked. Since this was the last day, there cubes might have been moved around by many visitors. According to the movie recorded, there were devices spouting out many cubes.

There are familiar artists who I picked up in this blog, Bryn Oh, Haveit Neox, Oberon Onmura, Rebeca Bashly, and also who attended UWA art contests. I am sorry but I did not check the names of the artists of works in the following pictures, but they were very nicely coordinated and integrated into one big art. Thank LEA and artists for the wonderful project!

Personally I like aligned cubes, so my gallery under remodeling is also made of cubes (that is the only thing I can handle). It should be super to be able to build up this kind of work within a short time. It would be hard only to align them with selecting suitable size and spacing.

The map of the 20 SIMs. As the theme was “Black and White”, it made a magnificent view that cannot be seen normally. This could be a kind of art. My next article will be also black and white.
