From Japan to SL

Visited an art SIM, “THE INEVITABILITY OF FATE, A story about Angry Beth and Lot” by Rose Borchovski. Ms. Borchovski is the artist of “Angry Beth” that was presented at UWA Self Portrait. This one could be the sequel. The previous one was reported in my blog shown above. The theme this time is grief and anger of a mother who lost her child in a war.

THE INEVITABILITY OF FATE
A story about Angry Beth and Lot

Lot turned eight, the sun did shine and all were happy.
But then the war came and all did change.
A harsh hand ruled the world of Beth and Lot.

They were forced to leave.
They were separated from each other.
They were made the enemy.

The war was bitter and long.

After the war Beth returned.
The child Lot had disappeared; no one knows where she went.

Beth keeps searching for Lot.
On good days, Beth is able to imagine that
Lot is flying like a bird, with her face towards the sky,
searching for the stars.
On bad days, Beth can only be angry about her loss.
Beth’s wounds will never heal.

Lot had no chance to become who she meant to be..




This is an interactive installation. Yellow tears are pose balls. The above is a flying chair that carries me sky high. The following sentences are my arbitrary interpretation and may not follow the artist’s intention, but it could be allowed since this art is interactive.
The below is Lot, stinging innocently a globe having blinders on.




The pins were also stinging her mother Beth…




And stabbed the home where they have lived in peace.




They were treated as the enemy, and sent to a concentration camp.




They were separated from each other.




This is the last moment when Beth saw Lot face… To be continued.
