What is SL?
After a long interval, I traveled abroad. I walked 10~15km every day, shops, parks, seashore, malls, and alleys… After coming back to SL, I was a bit shocked by the difference from the real world. Although how meticulously made they are, I cannot get the same throb as from the real ones.

Someone said, “People who needs second life does not have the first life.” But when I started SL. I had meant to experience things that cannot be done in real life. They are: things physically impossible such as flying, building floating in the air, or dream world, or things impossible due to expense, capability, or morality, such as airplanes, dancing, or photographing own nude.

Also there are photographs, three-dimensional arts, role playing games, or meeting peoples. I have met more than 2500 peoples so far. But almost all of them I feel I have done already. Of course it does not mean that I traveled every nook and cranny of SL. My major feeling might be that I cannot feel the excitement at the beginning that I was facing the endless world. It could be caused by the trip to Singapore which is like a real size SL world?

Get out from 3M
Sorry that I had introduced the Merlion as one of three biggest miss expectations. Though the guide said so when I visited there before. It could be said so regarding the one at the harbor, but the newer one appeals strongly with its height of 37m. They said the white one is female and this one is father.

There are many merlions in the city. Some of them are like cute mascots.

Now the three biggest disappointments in RL might return to the original, Mouth of Truth, Mannequin Pis, and Mermaid at Copenhagen. My three disappointments in SL were, Merlion, Mt Rushmore, and Vatican.

There was cloister also but it was small and the palace was only a wall paper.

The characteristic of RL Singapore might be architecture. A highrise with a gigantic ship on it, or a huge trees 50m high with a bar top of it. They builds rather innocent designs in reality that could be done in SL. An interesting country. Insilico a future city could have been imaging Singapore?

World's biggest ship
Next to the Singapore SIM, there was a gorgeous ship, Galaxy. I found this at the early stage of my SL and was impressed much but I lost the LM. I found it again.
Galaxy: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Galaxy%20MID/139/225/26

It is using three SIMs, a huge ship with more than 600m length. More than double of Titanbic. The largest ship in RL is 361m in length, a super tanker is 458m, so this is really big!

There are eight decks, swimming pools, park, shops, galleries, and rental rooms filled the ship wall to wall. My mentor of kimono fitting, Sensyuu Yifu a master geisha at Ohmiya in Edo, had a room in this ship.

This is a real ship Oasis of the Seas. Although this is much smaller than Galaxy but has overwhelming appeal. Galaxy; length 614m, width 95m, height 110m, measured by my flying. Oasis; lngth 351m, width 65m, height 72m. There is a park inside and the balconies facing to the park look like high-rise apartment buildings. The reason why there is so big difference in size feeling could be that the necessary size in SL is larger than RL. If everything were made in real size, it looks cramped from the avatar viewpoint. So everything in SL needs to be built larger than real size. Galaxy has eight decks in 95m high, but Oasis has twelve decks within 72m.

The bridge of Galaxy. Actual bridge does not have so high ceiling, doesn’t it?

I was not able to find a picture of Oasis of the Seas. This one is similar one, or could this be? At my early stage of SL, I was impressed by the huge size of Galaxy, but even now it is well-developed entertaining space. Again talking about the new possible SL, is there any person who builds this ship again because advanced modeling technologies becomes available?

Singapore
I will make a short tour to Singapore. So I tried to find Singapore in SL, but very few I found. I visited this Merlion several years ago. This is not too close to the real one. If this one were made now, sculpt or mesh will be able to make better ones. This could be an example that a new technology does not always mean to see better products.

The explanation says. “The design of the fort is inspired by forts which the British built during World War II, to defend Singapore against the invading Japanese Imperial Army” Japan invaded Singapore. I think I have not learnt it in school in detail.

A small bright side is that this fort was made by British not by Singaporean. What Japanese did and what was wrong should not be excused by “It is a war”, but should be taught properly.

Are there such ones in WWII? It loos cool seemingly but it is a tool for a war altogether. I wish a world that does not need “right of corrective self-defense”…

Photo contest
Applied for a photo contest first time in ages, and got a prize! The requirements were, square, no theme, no editing, and no trimming, but there was a clue that it might be good to make some twist.
Title: Gray relation:
“Had we better do over?”
”mmm… Let us stay in gray for a while”
The shooting site was an art by Wizard Gynoid at LEA full-SIM art introduced in the following article.
LEA1: http://temisirbu.slmame.com/e1460098.html

Since it was only one for account, this one is not submitted. “Wait and wait but I cannot be out of gray”. Actually there was a person who tried to re-log by watching my avatar. I would like to participate in a fancy dress contest to see how judges react.

The all applicants and winners. The site is here.
