From Japan to SL

  

The holidays were over and soon comes Feast of the Seven Hearts of Health (January 7). This year I skipped New Year’s visit to a shrine. At Baba, usually we visited a shrine together, but this year Kazumi made her own home shrine. She said she made it last night. Since it was built in the forest at the back, it looks as if an entrance of a haunted forest.

The shrine on the fringe of the forest. It is convenient to be able to get a paper fortune while sitting in Kotatsu (a small table with a heater underneath and covered by a quilt). I repeated it until I get the excellent luck. Sorry about that I did not make an offering although Kazumi has been providing Baba meeting area through the year free of charge.

Kazumi the owner of Baba Meeting Area has built a geothermal power plant. Taking this occasion I tried to study about geothermal energy.

I think everybody knows that the geothermal plant is to generate electricity through a turbine using steam from underground. A question is why it has not been used widely in Japan that has many volcanos. The three structures at the central position are production wells where the steam comes up. The large building behind is a cooling tower through which most of the heat from underground (80%?) will be ejected into the air.




Generating turbine. In order to operate it, not only the high temperature source but also the lower temperature is required to drive the steam. A system to eject the steam into the air is called back pressure type and the one using cooling tower is called condenser type. In Japan the latter is mainly used.




The control room. I imagined that of a rocket control but it is simpler than I thought.




There are many pictures of control room on the Web. There are more sophisticated ones. Are they old?




Along the way, this is the one for nuclear plant. Not all of them are cool as an old airplane cockpit.



As a result of my brief study, I understood that the geothermal plant cannot be the ultimate answer. Although Japan has many volcanos, whole usable geothermal energy can manage only 10% of the needed electricity, and also there are several real problems. The only way might be to keep making steady efforts. Stick to it Kazumi!   

The dance theme at Baba last week was ‘bloom gazing by the evil’. Kazumi grew mammoth at the beginning this time.




I tried to go wrong as much as possible but was not equal to the garnish on Kazumi’s skirt.




Is this a wasp or a roach? The evil should be insects for Hisanori who was attacked by a swarm of caterpillars at his dorm.




The cool guy is Suzuo the ex-dancer. A damnatory figure is on his shoulder.




Satan will be suitable for the evil, but Tomoko brought in a bunny girl. Are you an old conservative patriot with national flag? The theme tomorrow has not been announced, but please drop in.

The theme of Baba dance party last week was ‘insect and fairy’. There were many wings but few real fairy.




I became a butterfly following the theme insect, but there was only one else, chalcosia remota by Renji. I changed clothing soon since I cannot dance with the avatar.




Fairies with variation that cannot be seen at dance shows. The small green one is Hisanori, the red is Botan, the blue is Hideyoshi who used to be a small cat monster. The right end is me.




There were many come and go, so it was hard to shoot them together, but tried to make a line.




Xpyoda came in later. Cute but is this a fairy?




Night goes on and Kazumi grew mammoth again. Before she float up it was like a family tree at Pandora. What will be the theme today 29th? Please not to be ‘giants’.

The theme of the dance party at Baba last Saturday was ‘blossom viewing’, but there was no one with straightforward clothing.




The one at the far right is Sandra72 who was dancer at several dance groups. The left is Hideyoshi known as the master of Café Deep Sea and In-summer group. The one behind is Suzu1206, a male dancer at Maihime. The bromide in front is me, trying to be an apprentice to spirit of cherry blossom with holla and wing on a pink dress.




Recently Kazumi grows mammoth. Now she has been mechanized with the steampunk style backpack. What is the right, a big little bear? Anything is acceptable at Baba party. The theme for 22nd has not been announced yet, but newcomers will be welcome. Please drop in!

The dance party theme of Baba after ‘black’ and ‘red’ was ‘white’ last time. It was sad that there were only six participants. The first guest brought in a moth, so the theme became white wings.




The moth was Renji28. I also joined with the same outfit making mother. Another one will be mothest? The theme for this Saturday (today) has not been announced. Please come to see what happens.

Dance party is held at Baba every Saturday. Special theme will be set every week but this time was ‘arbitrary clothing’. There were gown, kimono, mini dress, costume-play and tiny, so abundant variety.




The floor that Kazumi set now also has abundant variety of colors and patterns. Sometimes fireworks will appear, and also strange things come in. This is a foam generator that spurts white cloud. Who would create such things like this? But also the person who found this is also interesting.

  

There were not so many members on the New Year’s holidays at Baba. This year the Kotatu (a small table with a heater underneath and covered by a quilt) was set outside, a bit cold.




This year’s first visit to the shrine was to go to Neko-jinja (cat shrine) as year before last. Partly because of the late time, the attendants were about half of the last year.




On the day there was a concert by Indian Summer. Kanachan1022 the singer of the group also attended after quick cloth change.




The live concert was held until just before. The audiences were more than fifty. Since there were some who popped in and out (dropped?) so I am sorry but there will be some name missing. The group Indian Summer has been performing live concert every 13th at Baba. Recently there were too many audiences and someone could not enter. Next performance will be January 13. Kazumi kindly expanded the seats to the next SIM, so it will be possible to have more than 100 guests. Please drop in.

Same as last time. There was also Tomoko in front of them, but she wore micro-bikini only that looked like naked with trace of sun burn, so I took the shot while she was away. Sorry Tomoko.




I got a pumpkin that was set on the floor and put it on. This picture was taken next morning.




Since this pumpkin was editable, I adjusted the size and texture position. Is this rater cooler than putting whole one on?

I do not recall where I got this bizarre dress. This could be a free one at some place. I wore this at the Halloween party at Club Pleiades.




Since it was a masked ball, I wore inky black skin. Any texture can be pasted on an editable skin as tatoo. This was done by using blank and color black. It looks like a manikin at jewelry shop. With black cloth, eyes and hair, you can make a silhouette avatar.
